Employment Type: Full Time / Casual / Part Time
Rate: Base Award Rate + Travel Time + Vehicle Allowance + Bonuses + Super
Roster: Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1600hrs

Job Summary:

General Gardeners at Ezi are responsible for maintaining the outdoor areas of clients’ homes, businesses, and community spaces. They perform regular garden maintenance tasks, follow specific care plans or organisational task lists, and may complete additional work where time allows.

Gardeners report directly to the EziGardening Team Leader and are expected to uphold Ezi’s values of quality, reliability, and care in every job they attend.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general gardening and maintenance duties including mowing, whipper snipping, edging, weeding, pruning, hedging, and leaf blowing.
  • Follow individual property care plans or task lists provided by Ezi or the client.
  • Maintain garden health by identifying weeds, pests, and diseases, and reporting these to the Team Leader.
  • Operate and maintain gardening equipment such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and whipper snippers.
  • Perform basic clean-up of driveways, pathways, and outdoor areas after each job.
  • Use work management software on mobile devices to track tasks, submit forms, and communicate with the office.
  • Report hazards, incidents, or maintenance issues through the proper reporting channels.
  • Provide feedback to the Team Leader regarding time estimates, client feedback, or job improvements.
  • Work safely and follow all Ezi health and safety protocols.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Support other team members or assist with large jobs as directed by the Team Leader.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to safely use and maintain power tools and gardening equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of plant care, lawn maintenance, and garden aesthetics, preferred.
  • Comfortable using mobile devices and apps for work management.

Required:

  1. Will pass Police check.
  2. Hold or willing to obtain blue card.
  3. Hold or willing to obtain NDIS Screening.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current Driver’s Licence (Auto or Manual, Green P plate or above).
  • Experience with small-scale irrigation systems or mulching.
  • Basic understanding of eco-friendly gardening and sustainable practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and use power equipment for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 15 kilograms.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment:

  • EziGardeners work in residential, aged care, disability, and commercial outdoor environments.
  • Work may involve exposure to dust, pollen, noise, and uneven ground surfaces.
  • Safety gear such as gloves, boots, eye and ear protection must be worn at all times.
